What the server stores
Online play creates a guest profile with the display name and emblem you choose. Guests do not need an account.
You can sign in with Google, GitHub, or Discord, or with an email address and a password. This is optional. If you sign in with a provider, the server stores your account ID at that provider and the email address and name that the provider sends. If you sign in with email, the server stores your email address and a hash of your password, never the password itself. It sends email only to confirm your address or to reset your password. Your guest profile then moves to that account. If the account already has a profile, the guest results join it.
The public leaderboard shows only your display name and emblem. It never shows your email address or your name from the provider.
A session cookie keeps you signed in for 30 days. The cookie is used only to sign you in.
The server stores your IP address with each session and with each room you create. It uses the address only to limit abuse, such as mass room creation.
After an online match, the server stores the result: the map, your player slot, and whether you won. These results feed the player stats and the leaderboard. Player-versus-player matches also count for the ranked rating, guests included. Your rating shows on the public ranked board only after you sign in.
What stays on your device
The game saves your settings, such as language, game speed, and graphics quality, in the local storage of your browser. Graphics quality and the frame-rate limit also accompany performance reports.
Performance and device information
The game sends performance measurements and device information: OS family, browser, graphics chip name, CPU cores, memory, and screen size. A random per-session ID identifies these reports. It is not linked to your guest profile.
Chat and logs
Chat messages go to the other players in your room. The server does not save them.
The server logs record requests and errors so that we can keep the game running. They do not contain your session cookie.
What we do not do
No ads or advertising trackers. Fonts and images load from this site. We do not sell or share your data.
How long we keep it
Sessions expire after 30 days. A guest profile without match results is deleted when its last session expires. A profile with match results is kept so that the leaderboard stays correct.
